Put differently, everything else comes from different timelines that have nothing to do with the primary universe where Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and our Avengers hail from.
That means everything that happened before isn’t canon. All these characters will appear in the MCU via reboots. Disney owns Fox, so it owns the rights to the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Deadpool. That’s why Doctor Strange 2 is better suited to handle amazing links to other Marvel movies, like the Fox universe.

No Way Home is an excellent example of that, but it’s still a movie that Marvel doesn’t fully control. It’s also a tool that allows Marvel to honor all the movies based on Marvel characters that aren’t part of the MCU, especially if Marvel wants to transition some of those characters to the MCU. It’s a tool that lets Marvel fine-tune stories without contorting logic too much.

The cameos should be used only if they can serve the plot and/or they provide more context that links that movie or TV show to the rest of the MCU.īut the multiverse is one of the big themes of Phase 4. Each movie should focus on a particular hero or team of heroes. These films cannot deliver ensemble casts like Civil War, Infinity War, Endgame, and No Way Home. Not all Marvel movies need big cameos to be exciting. There was a similar issue to the series finale of Adventure Time(don’t worry, no spoilers, though if you’ve dodged them by now-you’re talented)with one particular moment kind of overshadowing the whole affair. Mark my words, if she does make a cameo, it won’t be until the end of episode five. This with them stating her story was over-eh, I sincerely doubt she will be making an appearance. Seriously, I know I would be scanning these forums and watching every reaction video to a Max cameo I could, and I bet I am not the only one. However, I feel DONTNOD is hesitant to put her in as a cameo simply because it would draw so much attention away from the story at hand. I know the comic is coming out, which I am excited for, but it doesn’t feel the same as seeing her in video game form again and hearing Hannah Telle voicing her. You know-I want to see Max soo, soo badly. What you think should Max make a cameo to show the different possible outcomes to influence the brothers story, or is it better the outcome is left up to interpretation? Chloe dies Max is still mourning but happy everybody else is alive and Nathan and Jefferson got what they deserved (and hopefully Victoria got her head on straight lol) or Chloe lives Max is regretful for letting the entire town die but happy Chloe is alive (although I imagine there would be some friction between them for her selfishness). It'd also be good to see the aftermath of her choices and how she's living with them years later i.e. I think it would be interesting if the brothers encountered Max in their journey and she shares her personal experience with time travelling with them. This got me hoping that Max Caulfield makes a cameo as some kinda influence NPC for the brothers storyline. I haven't actually played LiS2 yet (I know the premise of it being about two runaway homeless brothers and that's about it), I'm waiting for all the episodes to come out so I can play it all at once, but I learned the game shows the fate of Arcadia Bay continuing from your choices in the previous game.
